Alsager is easily accessible by road and rail and is surrounded by agricultural land, hamlets and small villages. The town centre is located around the Civic Centre and Library buildings and Alsager has a range of specialist shops and an outdoor weekly market is held in the main town centre car park. PIPS Day Nursery is within 1 mile or less of 5 local primary schools. You will find a map that shows the location of PIPS on our 'contact us' page.

The setting provides care and education for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. We operate a Key Worker System where a Key Person is assigned to your child when they first enter the nursery. A Key Person has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for and building relationships with their parents. At PIPS we encourage children to investigate and explore, which in turn helps improve their confidence and social skills. To achieve this in a way that is age appropriate but aids the continued development of the children, we divide the setting into rooms or areas.
Baby Room: ages 6 weeks - 18 mths Divided into two areas, one for sleep or rest and one for play. We have toys and activies that encourage your baby's sensory perceptions such as colour, movement, feel and sounds. The babies are taken out regularly for walks by qualified members of staff. Our Key Worker System allows your baby to form a bond with a member of staff who will help to prepare your baby for entry to the next room.
Toddler Room: ages 18 mths - 24 mths This room provides the children with stimulating but fun activties which encourage and develop creative minds. The activites include imaginative play, music and movement, baking, art and craft work, stories and song, outdoor play, colouring, sand and water play etc.
Tiny Tots: ages 2 years - 3 years This is an area of the pre-school room, separated from the older children but is an important stage to help prepare and integrate the children. There are more structured activities to help the children follow simple instructions that leads to a planned outcome. Play underpins all development and learning for young children. Most children play spontaneously, although some may need adult support, and it is through play that they develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially and emotionally.
Pre-school Room: ages 3 years - 5 years The Pre-school room is planned in such a way that helps prepare the children for entry into mainstream school. As such, the activities are more structured but still allowing freedom for individual development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. However the activities are also planned to maintain a focus on the goals defined within the EYFS framework. The range of activities include art, music and movement, role play, letter recognition, writing and numeracy and all fall within the scope of the 7 Areas for Learning and Development.
